The 300-Place Student Hostel in Chung Chi Campus of The Chinese University of Hong Kong is one of the first batch of project adopting MIC construction.  Design of the Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) holistically takes into consideration the statutory requirements, area schedule, waterproofing, insulation, fire-rating requirements and, in addition, maximizes standardization to achieve cost effectiveness.  Thorough detail studies of the interfaces between MiC & MiC and the MiC & in-situ portions were carried out to arrive at the best solution while adding characters to the building.
