E-Co Village reimagines a former landfill in Tseung Kwan O as Asia’s first eco-village, a groundbreaking project dedicated to sustainability and environmental education. By transforming the disused site into a vibrant hub, the project sets a benchmark for adaptive reuse and sustainable development.
The design integrates recycled materials, renewable energy systems, and greywater recycling, ensuring sustainability in every aspect. The site includes unique features such as a major camping ground, a community farm, butterfly gardens, children’s education zones, a green theatre, and demonstration stations for waste reduction and sustainability practices.
As both a recreational and educational center, E-Co Village engages the public through interactive programs that promote green living and ecological awareness. This project exemplifies how neglected spaces can be revitalized to serve communities, inspire innovation, and foster a deeper respect for the environment.
