Located on the hillside of CUHK’s Shatin campus, Mei Yun Tang provides a well-integrated living and learning environment for 300 students. The facility includes 150 dormitory rooms, a multipurpose hall, a game room, study spaces, and communal areas, designed to encourage interaction and collaboration.
The architectural design blends seamlessly with the natural terrain through stepped volumes and landscaped roof gardens, enhancing connectivity between the upper and lower campus. Pathways and shared spaces promote accessibility and encourage a sense of community.
A transparent multipurpose hall serves as the centerpiece of the design, offering a flexible space for gatherings and activities. Sustainability features, such as cross-ventilation, low-e glass, and shaded walkways, contribute to energy efficiency and occupant comfort. Mei Yun Tang is a thoughtfully designed facility that combines functionality with environmental sensitivity, supporting the academic and social needs of students.
